Paperchase Blogger Event 2015! | #SS16

Hello all!

Back today with such an exciting post! Dances around the room. Last week, on Wednesday 18th November, I was absolutely honoured to attend the #SS16 Paperchase bloggers event in London! The event took place at the Tottenham Court Road store (three stories of heaven, honestly) and I had such a fabulous time.

Not only was I excited to see the new Paperchase collections for Spring/Summer 2016, but I also got to meet Daisy and Anna, two YouTube friends of mine! (Photo stolen from Daisy).

Whilst at the event, I of course took photos of the beautiful new collections...

These first two collections are "Get Organised" and "Serengeti". I absolutely love the copper/rose gold touches in the Get Organised range, and how adorable are the zebras in Serengeti?!

Next up is the new Mothers' Day line, and the collection with all the tigers is called "Wild at Heart". I love the florals in the Mothers' Day range, and that teacup candle is right up my street! "Wild at Heart" is probably the boldest collection that we saw during the event, and I think it'll be really popular with slightly younger customers.

One of my personal favourites... the wedding range. If only I had a wedding to plan eh? Hint hint William! The pastels, geometrics, florals... it's all just my cup of tea. And those pin wheels by Things by Laura? Beautiful!

Two of the more brightly coloured collections were "Parkano", which is full of bold lines and patterns, and "Get Fit". I believe this is the first time they've ever designed a range of fitness products, and some of the items feature Paperchase's signature style of cheeky phrases. I love the Gym and Tonic hip flask, it's so funny!

Now for some bunnies! Totally in love with the notebook and sweetie jar from the Easter collection, and I was absolutely head over heels for the entire range of Peter Rabbit products. I don't even have children but I am SO tempted to buy the baby journal and put it away for the future.

Time for some more cheeky phrases with the Valentines range! I thought every single item was adorable, and it really suits the sense of humour that my boyfriend and I share. I love that the collection is a mix of silly and soppy, so there really is something for everyone. If you're the romantic type there are cards with sweet words in them, and if you're a bit more sarcastic, you can buy a card with a cucumber or cheese grater on it... because why not! My personal favourite is the card that says "You're Just My Cup of Tea"; it's cute without being sappy, so it'd be great for someone in a fairly new relationship too.

So there we have it! All of the new collections we were lucky enough to preview at the event last week. All in all it was such a great day; we also decorated Christmas trees, made paper pinwheels and were lucky enough to receive a goody bag, all of which you can view in the video below:

If you have any questions please do let me know, and I will see you soon!

December Day by Day Scrapbook Kit!

I'll just let you have a look at that photo for a moment, and let all the scrapbooking, christmassy-goodness sink in.

By now you'll probably have noticed that I absolutely love Like For Ever, which is an online shop and monthly scrapbooking kit subscription. When Nicola posted that she was going to be releasing a separate kit specifically for documenting December, I just knew that I had to snap it up! It's available to buy with or without an album, and you can find it here.

I purchased the kit without the 6x4 album, as I intend to document my December alongside my normal Project Life pages. The kit is absolutely packed full of goodies:

  • 1 6x6 Christmas Wishes patterned paper pad
  • 1 Christmas Wishes 6x4 stamp set
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes puffy alpha
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes acetate squares
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes studio puffs
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes rubber charms
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes acrylic shapes
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes gold foil words
  • 1 pack Christmas Wishes die cuts
  • 1 pack Evalicious Oh What Fun wood veneer
  • 3 assorted Evalicious Fun Flair badges
  • 1 pack Pretty Pink Posh 8mm sparkling clear sequins
  • 1 Freckled Fawn gold dot washi tape
Subscribers were also lucky enough to receive a free journalling set, including cards in both the 4x6 and 3x4 sizes, tags, a doily and other goodies.

If you want a closer look at the kit, here's my unboxing video:

Have a wonderful day, and if you have any questions please do ask me!

South East Bloggers Circle Meet Up!

Hi all!

No crafty post today, but I do have something exciting! I thought it was about time I sat down and put together a little post about the wonderful blogger meet-up I attended on the 9th November. It was organised by the lovely Jenny, who you can find here.

I had booked the 9th off work so that I could do a spot of Christmas shopping with my Mum, and then go to the meet-up without having to rush around! The meet-up began at 6pm and I must admit, I was so, so nervous walking up to Pizza Express. The restaurant had very kindly allowed us the use of their top floor, and Jenny and her Dad had set up the room with lots of goodies: I arrived, got my little name tag, and then went to meet everyone and look around.

Firstly, it was lovely to finally meet Jenny in person! We've chatted quite a bit over social media, but it's always nice to properly put a face to a name. We stood and talked for a little while, before admiring the goodies that Lush Basingstoke and Bee Good had brought to the meet-up.

The Lush representatives did some demonstrations for us; a few bloggers got relaxing hand and arm massages, and we also got to see how some of the bath bombs work... it was so interesting to hear a little about how some of the products are made! Lush do so much positive work for the environment and planet at large, and it was clear that the girls were excited about the methods and products they were showing us.

After a little while, some of the staff from Pizza Express began to load up the main table with enough food to feed an army! There were plates of antipasti, doughballs and lots and lots of pizza; so much so in fact that I think a couple of girls took some home at the end! This was all provided for us by Pizza Express, along with a complimentary drink at the beginning of the evening, and it was such a lovely gesture. I commented that everyone was eyeing the buffet hungrily, but no one wanted to go up first! Eventually we all crowded round and piled up our plates, before enjoying the food together and chatting about how/why we all started blogging or vlogging. As if I hadn't stuffed myself on pizza enough, we were then offered some salted caramel ice cream from Jude's Ice Cream. It was absolutely delicious! I loved that it was all produced in the UK, and that some of the profit goes to charity.

After our food, we continued to enjoy browsing the products from Lush and Bee Good, before Jenny called everyone round to draw the raffle! The money raised went to MIND, a charity supporting those who struggle with their mental health and other issues, and it's a charity close to the hearts of several people at the event. Sadly I didn't win any prizes, but Jenny had gathered some fab items such as an Illamasqua make up set, and a hamper from Bill's which looked amazing.

By this point I really needed to be heading home, and a few other girls had trains to catch. Jenny handed out the goodie bags (which I believe she said were donated by Life Tonics) and we took a quick group photo. I then bought a few goodies from the Lush table, and we were given some freebies too!

I had an absolutely wonderful time, and I'm so glad I went! I get very, very nervous before this sort of thing and nearly always talk myself out of attending.. really pleased I braved it as it was a lot of fun. I'd like to say a huge thank you to Jenny for organising the event, Pizza Express for the venue and food and finally, to all the companies who donated products towards the raffle or the goodie bags. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I'm sure everyone else did too!

Have you ever been to a blogger event? Let me know in the comments!

Kill a Kit and Layout Share! | September Like For Ever Kit

Hello! Finally back on the blog today, sharing the layouts that I made with the gorgeous Acorn Avenue kit from Like For Ever. It was comprised mostly of goodies from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane collection, and I absolutely loved it. I couldn't photograph some of my projects properly, but you can find them all in the video at the bottom of this post. In the video, I also share all the bits that I had left from this beautiful kit.

This first layout documents how grateful I am for two of our dogs. Tilly and Bramble were stolen on the 1st October but thanks to a huge social media campaign, we managed to get them back very quickly. The ephemera pack included lots of bits and bobs that talked about being grateful, so that was perfect. I love the paper strips sewn on each side, and the little embellishment cluster at the bottom of the page. This was actually a scraplift of a beautiful layout that I saw on Pink Paislee's facebook page. (You'll soon discover that October was the month of scraplifting!)

My next project was a pocket page, Week 40 of my Project Life album. I absolutely love this page, which is a big deal for me as I'm so, so critical of my PL (in fact, I made another one this month which is not going to be included in this post lol. I hate it!) I cut down the 12x12 papers, used some of those gorgeous glittery thickers and lots of the embellishments. You can see this page in it's entirety in my Kill a Kit video.

I just love this layout. My motivation was running a little low, so I scraplifted a beautiful layout by Nicola Mardlin, the talented owner of Like For Ever. I fussy-cut the large flowers, used up some of the ephemera pack (because when else am I ever going to use fox die cuts!) and used one of those stunning glitter thicker words. It's not massively clear from my terrible photography skills, but the layout is sewn onto a black cardstock background.

Ah, my first failed attempt at gesso and gelatos! I got a new bunny in October (technically I'm fostering him) and it took weeks to decide on a name, hence this layout. I actually really like the gelatos now but you can see in the pink section that it all went a little gloopy. I used arrows from the ephemera pack, and the wooden arrows, to draw more attention to the photo; layering in some stamping too. I love the title and the watercolour splatters.

Another bunny layout and another scraplift! Again, this was heavily inspired by a page on the Pink Paislee facebook page, I love the tags layered with the wreath behind the photo, and the way I watercoloured some of the phrases on the patterned paper. I later added some sewing to this layout, after I'd taken photographs (typical!)

As you can see, my layouts for October were very pet-heavy! This page documents my dog Ruby's favourite pose... so graceful right? Haha, not much. I used my gelatos again, but other than that the layout is just made up of simple layering, a few embellishments from the kit and another one of those mixed-alpha titles. As usual, I sewed the white cardstock onto a sheet of patterned paper.

Last bunny layout, I swear! I finally decided on the name "Rufus" for my foster bunny, so I made a layout to document it of course. More sewing and layering as usual, and I also went back to my July kit and used some of the Pinkfresh wood veneer stickers.

This layout is kind of an extra; it was made primarily with my Acorn Avenue kit, but I made it after I filmed my Kill a Kit video. I used my final 12x12 sheet for the background, and used up pretty much all my scraps for the layers behind the photos. The cardstock and chipboard stickers are from an old My Mind's Eye collection, and I also used texture paste for the first time! I really like it, especially the background and the glittery thicker words.

So that's pretty much everything! Here is my Kill a Kit video;

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, and I will be back again soon!
