Project Life 2017 | My Title Page

Hello all!

I hope 2017 is treating you well so far! Today, I'm super excited to share my first project of the year with you, using the beautiful Woodland kit from Like For Ever. This is my 3rd full year of doing Project Life, and I'm still absolutely hooked. Every year, I create a title page for my album, and I thought I'd share 2017's with you. It was also shared on the Like For Ever blog, here, if you'd rather go and have a mooch there!

One of my goals is to really simplify my scrapping this year; I'm going to go back to monthly documenting instead of weekly, and I want to allow my photos to tell the story. I don't want to smother everything in embellishments, as I have a tendency to do. With that in mind, I wanted to keep my title page really simple this year too, so I went for black and white photos for a cleaner look. I wanted a photo of each of us (myself, my boyfriend and the dogs) as it's our first full year living together as a little family! My younger brother took some lovely photos of us on Christmas Day, and I wanted to include those, as well as a few random ones from the end of 2016.

I started with my title card, which again, I wanted to keep simple. I know, I know, this still looks super busy.. it's simple compared to my usual explosion of "stuff"! I HAD to feature the beautiful Hazelwood Roses paper from the kit, so I trimmed a 6x4 piece and outlined it to add a little interest, before adhering a white doily off-centre. The "Life is Lovely" phrase from the decorative thickers was perfect for this card, and I finished the title with a pastel and gold arrow from the same thicker pack. To finish off the card, I layered up a few die cuts from the kit's ephemera pack, dotted around some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and splattered some of my favourite gold Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.

I'm a little bit obsessed with outlining lately, so I decided to continue this throughout the page. I used cardstock from the kit, along with one of the patterned papers, to make 3x4 backing cards for my photos before outlining them. I also outlined those little banners from the ephemera pack, added more sequins and a puffy sticker from the kit to create an embellishment cluster on the bottom right photo. I also used the gold thickers from the kit to spell out "2017" on one of the 3x4 photos.

The final touch was a tag with some hidden journalling, which is another recent favourite thing of mine. I stamped out some basic goals for 2017 using a wooden alphabet stamp set from Hobbycraft I had in my stash, and some Staze On black ink. I outlined the tag, and popped it behind one of the 3x4 cards. I absolutely love how it all turned out, and I always like to have little interactive elements on my pages!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my title page for 2017, and that it's maybe given you some ideas or inspiration!
